I love that airports and airlines have implemented social distancing and covid protocols. However, I think it’s our own responsibility to make sure we are safe. I want to be able to travel and stay healthy, so I am going to do whatever it takes to accomplish that.
Here is what I brought to help me stay safe on my flight last weekend.
I always travel with hand sanitizer hanging from my backpack and I have my travel Clorox Wipes. Now I have added a travel size disinfecting spray. More than ever, it’s important to frequently sanitize your hands, wipe down your seat and tray table on the plane and spray your luggage with disinfecting spray.
Next I’ll tell you about my outfit, it was next level. Lol
Let’s starts from bottom to top. I wore tennis shoes to protest my feet and I wore throwaway hospital booties over my tennis shoes. This was great during security as I took my shoes off but was able to leave my booties on over my socks. I wore comfy clothes because comfort is key for me and clothes that covered most of my body. I wore gloves as I went through security but did end up taking them off as I got to my gate. Lastly, I wore a mask and a face shield. I heard that masks with filters are ideal or to double up on your masks. I was so happy with my decision to wear a face shield even though I was the only person wearing one. lol When you go through security, they ask you to take your mask off so they can confirm your identity but I was able to leave the shield on. Also, on the plane you need to take your mask off to eat and drink but I was able to keep the face shield on. I recommend not eating on the plane if you can, no need to risk taking off your mask. The feeling of being double protected with the mask and face shield made me feel really safe. It also helps get less germs on the outside of the mask, which is safer as I carried that mask around all weekend.
I was by far the most covered up person in the airport, but id rather be safe than sorry. I got my face shield, gloves, disinfecting spray and booties on Amazon so they were cheap and easy.
I hope you guys are able to get away this summer and know that there is a safe way to do it. You don’t have to be as extra as me, but even utilizing some of things things will help.
