10 things to Pack in your Carry- On

For me, comfort is key while traveling. These are my top 10 tips for what to bring in your carry-on when traveling.

1. Your carry-on should be a backpack! This way, you have both hands free to navigate the airport.

2. Get a document holder and a mini wallet. I do not bring my Louis Vuitton Purse and Wallet with me when I travel. Impressing strangers is not worth the risk of losing it, damaging it or getting it stolen. While in the airport, I use the document holder as my wallet. It holds my ID, credit cards, passport and boarding passes. When I get to my destination, I switch out of the document holder into a mini wallet that I can throw in my cross body bag.

3. Personal items are especially important to bring on an overnight flight to help fight that grimy feeling we all get. Bring your make- up removing wipes, moisturizer, lip-gloss, cozy socks, toothbrush, hairbrush etc. These items will help you feel refreshed when you get off the plane.

4. Change of Clothes: If you have an overnight flight this is important so that you can feel fresh in the morning when you arrive at your destination. But, this is also a safety measure in case your luggage doesn’t make it to your destination with you, at you least you have one extra outfit in case you need it.

5. Sanitation has always been important when traveling but now it is more important than ever. I always have one of those travel hand sanitizers hanging from my backpack and I bring disinfecting wipes to wipe down my seat and tray table on the plane. Now with everything that is going on, I will be bringing a mask, foot booties, a face shield and gloves.

6. Sleep Aids: Bring a neck pillow and get yourself a window seat. It helps so much! I also like to bring an all-natural sleep aid to help get some zzzzz. I bring an eye mask to help block out the hustle and bustle of the plane and earplugs to drown out the sound.

7. Snacks/Water: Since you cannot bring water in, I always buy a big bottle of water at the airport and bring it on the plane with me. Its super important to stay hydrated.

When traveling you never know exactly when your next meal will be, so bringing snacks like protein bars and trail mix will really help you to not be hangry when you arrive at your destination.

8. Headphones: I know I am the only person on the planet who does not like ear buds but those hurt my ears so badly lol. So, I bought a pair of old school headphones that cover my whole ear. They do take up more room in the carry- on but for me, they are worth it and most of them do fold up a bit.

9. Electronics: Do not forget your chargers! Most planes will have charging ports on the seats and in flight wifi so go ahead and bring your cell phone, I pad and Laptop.

10. Entertainment: Having entertainment that you like is the best way to make a long flight go by quickly. This is totally up to personal preference. It can be a book, magazine, word puzzle or electronics. For me, I do not get a whole lot of time to watch movies in my life so I take this time to catch up on movies. They take up hours of time and its entertainment for me.

I hope you enjoyed these tips for what to pack in your carry-on!
